TELIK ANNOUNCES WEBCAST OF PRESENTATION NEEDHAM & COMPANY BIOTECHNOLOGY CONFERENCE

Palo Alto, CA, June 4, 2003 — Telik, Inc. (Nasdaq: TELK) announced that Michael M. Wick, M.D., Ph.D., chairman and chief executive officer, will present a company update at the Second Annual Needham & Company Biotechnology Conference on Thursday, June 5, 2003 at 10:00 a.m. Eastern time at the New York Palace Hotel in New York City.

A webcast of Dr. Wick’s presentation will be available live on the Telik website, www.telik.com. A replay of the webcast will be available on the Telik website from approximately 12:00 noon Eastern time on June 5 through June 12, 2003.
