Michael M. Wick, M.D., Ph.D. joined Telik in 1997 from CV Therapeutics, Inc. where he was Senior Vice President of Research and
Development. Prior to joining CV Therapeutics, Dr. Wick was Executive Director of Oncology/Immunology and
Clinical Research at Lederle Laboratories, a division of American Cyanamid, where he also directed the
Cyanamid/Immunex joint oncology research program. Dr. Wick began his career at Harvard Medical School,
where he was an Associate Professor. He also was Chief of the Melanoma Clinic and Laboratory of Molecular
Dermatological Oncology at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute. Dr. Wick holds a Ph.D. in chemistry from Harvard
University and an M.D. from Harvard Medical School.

Senior Vice President, Corporate Strategy
In August 2008, Dr. Ryser joined Telik as Senior Vice President, Corporate Strategy. Prior to joining Telik, Dr. Ryser most recently served as founding and managing partner of Bear Stearns Health Innoventures, a $212 million private equity fund established in 2000. He also founded and managed, beginning in 1998, International Biomedicine Management Partners, a biotechnology venture fund. Previously, Dr. Ryser held various senior management positions of increasing responsibility at F. Hoffmann-La Roche, including Scientific Assistant to the President, Global Research and Development. Dr. Ryser has served on numerous boards of directors in both public and private biotechnology companies. Dr. Ryser received a Ph.D. degree in molecular biology from the University of Basel.

Officer
Cynthia M. Butitta joined
the company in 1998 as Chief Financial Officer. Ms. Butitta has extensive financial and operational
experience in the biotechnology and high technology industries. Prior to joining Telik, she provided
financial and consulting services to biotechnology companies. From 1995 to 1997, Ms. Butitta was Vice
President for Finance and Administration and Chief Financial Officer for Connetics, Inc. Previously,
she held senior level positions in information technology, contract planning and manufacturing in the
high technology industry. Ms. Butitta holds a B.S. in business and accounting from Edgewood College
in Madison, Wisconsin and an M.B.A. in finance from the University of Wisconsin, Madison.

Senior Vice President and Chief Medical Officer
Dr. Brown has directed the company’s clinical development programs since 1998. Prior to joining the company,
Dr. Brown was affiliated with several investment organizations specializing in the biotechnology industry,
and she served a consultant and member of clinical and scientific advisory boards at numerous public and
private biotechnology companies. Dr. Brown began her career at the Harvard Medical School, where
she served on the faculty of the Department of Medicine, Division of Hematology and Oncology.
She holds an M.D. degree from the University of Rochester School of Medicine and an M.B.A. degree
in finance from St. Mary's College of California School of Economics and Business Administration.

Senior Vice President, Business Development
Marc Steuer has 20 years' experience in business and corporate development and senior
management in pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical device companies. Prior to joining
Telik in 2002, he was associated with Pharmacyclics, Inc., most recently as Senior Vice President,
Business Development. Previously, Mr. Steuer was with SciClone Pharmaceuticals, Inc., Pilkington
Visioncare Group, Syntex Corporation and international management consulting firms. Mr. Steuer holds
an M.S. in electrical engineering from Columbia University and an M.B.A. from New York University

Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary
Mr. Kaplan has served on the management teams of a variety of public and private technology companies. Prior to joining Telik in April 2003, he was Vice President and General Counsel of iPrint Technologies, a developer and supplier of internet print technology. Before iPrint, Mr. Kaplan served as Vice President & General Counsel of Resumix, a publisher of enterprise human resources software. Mr. Kaplan has practiced law since 1982. He holds a B.A. degree in mathematics from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and a J.D. degree from the School of Law at the University of California, Davis.
