Michael M. Wick, M.D., Ph.D. is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Telik, Inc. (Nasdaq: TELK).
He joined Telik in 1997 from CV Therapeutics, Inc. where he was Senior Vice President of Research and Development.
Prior to joining CV Therapeutics, Dr. Wick was Executive Director of Oncology/Immunology and Clinical Research
at Lederle Laboratories, a division of American Cyanamid, where he also directed the Cyanamid/Immunex joint
oncology research program. Dr. Wick began his career at Harvard Medical School, where he was an Associate
Professor. He also was Chief of the Melanoma Clinic and Laboratory of Molecular Dermatological Oncology at
the Dana Farber Cancer Institute. Dr. Wick holds a Ph.D. in chemistry from Harvard University and an M.D.
from Harvard Medical School.

Laboratories

Dr. Cantrall, a consultant to biotechnology and genomics companies, joined our Board of
Directors in May 2002. He serves on the Board's audit committee. He was Vice President
of Operations at Lederle Laboratories, a division of American Cyanamid Company subsequently
acquired by Wyeth. His fields of expertise include pharmaceutical development and manufacturing.
Dr. Cantrall holds a Ph.D. degree in organic chemistry from the University of Illinois and an M.B.A.
degree in industrial management from Fairleigh Dickinson University.

Robert W. Frick has served as one of Telik's directors since April 2003.
He serves on the Board's audit committee. From 1976 until his retirement in 1998, Mr. Frick
served in various capacities at Bank of America, including Vice Chairman of the Board and
Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Frick currently serves on the Board of Directors of several private
companies. He is currently an adjunct professor of business strategy in the graduate business
program at St. Mary's College. He holds a B.S. in civil engineering and an M.B.A. from Washington
University, St. Louis.

Chief Scientific Officer - Research Administration, Hospital for Special Surgery

Dr. Goldring joined our Board of Directors in May 2002. He serves on the Board's
compensation committee. A highly experienced clinical research leader, he is a Chief Scientific Officer -
Research Administration, Hospital for Special Surgery. Previously he was a Professor of
Medicine at Harvard Medical School and Chief of Rheumatology at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center.
He has also served as the Director of the New England Baptist Bone and Joint Institute. Dr. Goldring has
served as a consultant or Principal Investigator for pharmaceutical industry, foundation and
NIH-sponsored research programs, and as a consultant to numerous pharmaceutical and biotechnology
companies. Dr. Goldring received his medical training at Peter Bent Brigham Hospital and Massachusetts
General Hospital. He holds an M.D. degree from the Washington University School of Medicine.

Mary Ann Gray, Ph.D. joined the Telik Board of Directors in August 2003.
She is a member of the Board's nominating committee. Dr. Gray is President of Gray
Strategic Advisors, LLC and serves on the Board of Directors of Dyax Corporation.
Dr. Gray was a senior analyst and portfolio manager for the Federated Kaufmann Fund,
and previously led biotechnology equity research groups at Raymond James & Associates,
Warburg Dillon Read and Kidder Peabody. Dr. Gray holds a Ph.D. in pharmacology from the
University of Vermont.

Products Co., Inc.

Richard B. Newman has served as a director of Telik since April 2003. He serves
on the Board's compensation committee. Since 1983, Mr. Newman is President and
Chief Executive Officer of D&R Products Co., Inc., which designs, develops and manufactures
orthopedic, vascular and other surgical medical devices and instruments for major medical device
and instrument manufacturers in the U.S. and Europe. He has extensive experience in acquiring and
operating industrial, real estate and software businesses. Mr. Newman holds an A.B. from Harvard
College and a LL.B. from Harvard Law School.

Senior Vice President, Corporate Strategy, Telik, Inc.

Dr. Ryser has served as one of our directors since September 1998. In August 2008, Dr. Ryser joined Telik as Senior Vice President, Corporate Strategy. Prior to joining Telik, Dr. Ryser most recently served as founding and managing partner of Bear Stearns Health Innoventures, a $212 million private equity fund established in 2000. He also founded and managed, beginning in 1998, International Biomedicine Management Partners, a biotechnology venture fund. Previously, Dr. Ryser held various senior management positions of increasing responsibility at F. Hoffmann-La Roche, including Scientific Assistant to the President, Global Research and Development. Dr. Ryser has served on numerous boards of directors in both public and private biotechnology companies. Dr. Ryser
received a Ph.D. degree in molecular biology from the University of Basel.

Dr. von Morzé joined the Telik Board of Directors in August 2004. He is an international
consultant specializing in pharmaceutical patent strategy, patent prosecution and pharmaceutical
product life cycle management. Dr. von Morzé most recently was Co-Chair of Heller Ehrman's
Patent and Trademark Practice Group. He has directed patent prosecution and enforcement programs
in the pharmaceutical industry for more than 25 years.
